"The 23rd Swiss Watch Fair Basle" - Original magazine clipping which was removed from a 1953 Swiss magazine.
The clipping opens with a page from the director of the Swiss Industries Fair. It also includes a List of Exhibitors, a list of members of the Directing Committee, and a map of sorts showing a couple of important roads and railway stations in Basle. Also included is a section titled "Exhibitors' Communiques," which shows small black and white images of timepieces from a number of the Fair exhibitors.
The opening paragraph of the first page reads:
"Of all the Industries Fairs in which the Swiss watchmaking industry participates, that of Basle is undoubtedly the most complete and faithful reflection of this typically Swiss branch of productions. It is therefore not at all surprising that the Swiss Industries Fair in Basle has become the annual meeting place of international dealers in the watchmaking trade who are sure of finding there an extensive range of samples enabling them to make useful comparisons and giving them an excellent idea of all the novelties produced in their line of business in the course of a year."
Main text in the clipping is in English.
The magazine cliping was carefully removed from a Swiss magazine.
[Please note: this is a magazine article/magazine clipping only; no watch, clock, parts, tools, or other items are included.]
The clipping is 24 pages in length (on 12 sheets of paper). (The section showing the timepieces images is 16 pages in length on 8 sheets of paper, including the front and back cover pages.)
As with most vintage magazine clippings, there are some small bends, yellowing to the paper due to age, and light general wear. The "Exhibitors' Communiques" pages have been left untrimmed, to form a sort of booklet, and have small staple holes along the page edge. The map/plan of Basle has also been left untrimmed as it folds open and spans between two pages, so there are small staple holes on these pages, as well.
The magazine clipping was carefully removed directly from a Swiss magazine. It is not a copy or reproduction. The rest of the magazine is not included.
[Please note: this is a magazine article/magazine clipping only; no watch, clock, parts or tools are included.]
